July 1, 2010 Pavilion Project Update - A Letter to our Membership
Rosy Mound PTA Members,
Rosy Mound PTA would like to update our membership regarding the installation
of our new pavilion this summer. We have been working hard to develop the
right plan and installation dates for implementing our new pavilion before fall
2010. In addition to our students raising over $30,000 in this year's Jogathon,
we had a generous amount of sponsors who've donated towards this project.
Our budget was approved with an estimated amount of $24,500 for pavilion,
concrete, delivery, tables etc. We have been able to reduce spending in a few
areas, which have allowed us to go stay with the larger 32' option. However;
due to the middle school renovations, the district has not been able put any
labor resources towards building the pavilion. Therefore, PTA will be paying
for the labor to construct the pavilion. It is estimated to be an additional
$2,000 to $4,000.
On Tuesday, June 29th, 2010, it was motioned by Terri Jenning's to approve an
amendment to the budget for all costs associated with the pavilion, not to
exceed $28,500. This motion was seconded by Principal Blanding and all board
members are in favor of this agreement.
If you are a member who is NOT in agreement with this amendment, please respond
by WEDNESDAY, JULY 14. Those NOT in favor can email Rosy Mound PTA at
pta@rosypta.org with their response.
Our budget will be submitted in September for our new 2010-2011 school year.
Most pavilion expenditures will be paid from the 2010-2011 budget.
We are excited to see how this new pavilion will be put to use.
Teachers/classrooms have already begun to reserve their "outdoor class" times
for next year!
See you in the fall.
Sincerely,
Rosy Mound PTA
